Celebrate being forty with my family (number 31)

Mum and Dad very kindly agreed to host a BBQ for my 40th birthday in their back garden.

Date and time: 1st September 2012 early afternoon
Place: Maghull, Mum and Dad's back garden

Who was there:
Me!!
Mum and Dad
Iain, George and Sophie
Neil, Sarah and Isla
Uncle Chris, Auntie Sue, Jack and Emily (thank you for coming Jack and Emily - I haven't got any good photos of you at the party (phew you say!) - hope you weren't too bored (teenagers!! ha ha))

Then a surprise as my Auntie Lynne, Uncle John, Cousin Rob, his wife Catherine and his children Ella and James arrived. Unfortunately Dave and Aleisha couldn't make it this time.

Here are some shots:

Ella, James, George, Isla and Sophie and Grandma feeding the fish.

After the food the children played horsey with Uncle Neil and Daddy. Grandma helped Isla race too.

Sorry Iain I have not got any good shots of you either!! (well apart from you being a good horse!!)

The horse is worn out!

Mum and Dad showed some old photos on the wall of the gazebo. Some people made some comments!! I have brought them home and displayed them with my cards!

Sarah made me a fantastic cake:

A big 40 covered with icing models. Very clever - don't expect me to do the same in two years though!!

On the cake is:
Fred - my oldest (from when I was born) teddy in a Sindy dress
Cow's head
Now music 1 record
Nintendo donkey Kong game
Garfield
Noddy
Doc Martens
Graduation
Wedding rings
Nappies - blue ans pink

  1. Looks like a fab day was had. Happy birthday to you. Just one question what is the significance of the cow's head on the cake? Jan

  2. Net was always buying cow print this and that and always favoured cow things! She however may have another different reason for it! :)
