See an old flame (number 25)- Day 1

Day One- 6th December

Left very early on Thursday morning to catch an 8.30am flight. I had my bag checked at customs and they swabbed for drugs!! Flew BA which was very nice.

Arrived in New York 11.30am (NY time). Seems we have gained extra time!!

Thank you to mum and dad for coming to live at ours to look after George and Sophie while we are away. And extra thank you to mum who gave up her birthday to be at ours. Although I did make her a birthday cake and I believe Dad and George and Sophie decorated it??? There is no evidence!!

Once through customs (which took over an hour ans involved finger print taking) we caught a shared shuttle (http://www.supershuttle.com/). As we got into the van we realised there was not enough room for both of us and Iain had to sit in the front seat. Forgetting we are in the US her proceeded to try and get into the drivers seat - much to the amusement of the driver (and me)!!

Arrived at hotel:

Park South Hotel

On East 28th which is midtown - not too far from most things.  When we got in we had been given a complementary upgrade on our room and had complementary wine and chocolates. I think it was because when I booked it I mentioned we were coming to NY to celebrate being 40.

After unpacking we headed out for a wander.

We found:

The Flatiron building

Bucky Ball in Madison Square park

Relaxing and viewing the bucky ball!

Then we came across some shops including Macy's (worlds largest department store)

Can you spot us on the big screen?

And then we found the Naked Cowboy!!

And we found Bryant Park ice skating (went skating on another day!!)

Then we had a pizza and went to bed.
