Day 8 - Mario Kart on Wii
Final day of the Walympics.
We borrowed 2 wii remotes from the Laybournes (thank you) so that we could all race at the same time. We all used our Mii's and had the same style kart. The game picked out 4 random races for us the complete. Depending where you finish (out of 12) in each race, the computer allocates scores. Therefore the winner is the person with the highest score.
George played his joker which will double his score.
George won, Dad second, mum third and Sophie fourth.
So final scores are:
George won overall!!
Prizes to come.

Day 3 at the Walymics
Game 1: Lego racers
We each had to build our own lego car to race down a slope. The car has to have a person (individual) on/in it. We have 4 races and the most distance travelled overall is the winner (4 points etc)...
Here are some pics of our cars:
Me and my car - two people in it. I played my trump card - gives me +3 points
Iain and the Baddy bus. He is playing his joker card (double points)
George and his winged dragon car
Sophie and her car.
The car starts at the top, is let go and travels as far as possible on the kitchen floor. Measurement are then taken.
Here is the official track and measuring of the distances

Day 2 at the Walympics
Game: UNO
Today was day two of the Walymics. We decided on
playing UNO. Rules were agreed before we started (please note Iain!!). We are
going to play 4 games so that we each start a game. The winner is the person
with no cards left. Once the winner has shouted 'I've won' the other players
then add up the scores on their remaining cards. Then after each game we add
these scores together. The overall winner is therefore the person with the
least score at the end (not the person who won most often!!).
Here we are playing:

As you can see I won overall as my final score was
the lowest. Although I won less games my cunning and game play meant I always
had small scoring cards at the end. Unfortunately other players didn't play
this way!!
Therefore I got 4 points, George- 3 points, Dad- 2
points and Sophie- 1 point.

Day 1 Walympics
Today was the start of our family games day (it is
going to be a number of games over a number of days!). We have called it
Walympics - yes very sad - after Wallace and Olympics!!
Some rules:
No moaning about losing or it not being fair etc...
If anyone does this they get a yellow card. If anyone does this twice then its
a red card and you are disqualified from the game you are playing!
Sophie made the cards
George is showing them.
For each game the scoring is as follows:
The winner gets 4 points
Second: 3 points
Third: 2 points
Fourth: 1 point
We each have a joker and trump card. Each can only
be played for one game.
The joker card doubles whatever score you get. So
if you think you will win then play this.
The trump card give you 3 points (on top of
whatever you get). So you should play this on your worse game.
Today we played Mario and Sonic at the Winter
Olympic games 2010 on the Wii.
We played 4 games all together but will calculate
an overall winner for this one game.
Games: Dream Bobsleigh, dream snowboard cross, ski
jump and ice skating.

So this means George wins today and overall takes
away 4 points.
This seems complicated but means the scoring should
work out when we play a game that is a single game such as Kerplunk.
